Rye Beach House is a contemporary reimagining of a 1960s brick veneer home, set within a coastal native landscape on a stunning corner block. The original structure, solid but tired, was retained and reworked as part of a broader transformation.
A new façade wraps the existing home, creating a cohesive and modern frontage, while a generous open-plan extension to the rear enhances the living spaces with a distinctly coastal character. The design prioritises natural light, Australian timber detailing, and strong indoor–outdoor connections to create a warm, contemporary home for a family of four.
Key features include integrated surfboard storage, a dedicated art studio to support the client’s creative practice, and expansive garden space for the children—bringing together function, lifestyle, and coastal charm in equal measure.
